“Tear off the mask. Your face is glorious!” — Rumi

newheadshot_amelia2016Meet Amelia. Amelia is a rare treasure. Born in the sun sign of Taurus, she is immensely practical, sure footed, and well grounded in practical matters. She is also a gifted energy healer, intuitive, teacher, poet, day dreamer and traveler between the worlds.

The issue: Working in a job that was “fine” for a company that is ranked one of the top 2 in the Country (5 in the World!)—competitive pay, outstanding benefits, private jets, luscious schoomzy marketing parties. The perfect environment for this dear Taurean professional.

Except for one thing…

Each time we would talk, Amelia would say in words, “Sharyn, I think I’m wasting MY time.” And, she would say beyond words, “Sharyn, I think I’m wasting MY gifts.”

And in this unclaiming, Amelia was sad. She felt like her little fire was nothing but small embers, lighting hardly anything at all.

Why so sad? Because her fiery earthy soul — her sparkly spirit — had other plans and the sadness was drawing her to them through these dulling feelings and messages during her corporate job and dreaming into the great spaces between.

She had been training in the healing arts for years, and had started a part-time healing practice in the evenings and on the weekends. There her fire grew – she explored other avenues of mastery and sharing—teaching, mentoring, and writing.

Unfortunately, despite being right and good, this was a failed attempt at work-life balance. Do the work you do, so that you can do the work you love later. She was living and creating her “house divided.” Her practical nature—and our culture—advised her to adapt and stay put in her day job. Each day, part of her heart fire would dwindle, and in the evening would be stoked, gently blown, fanned, and she would end with a roaring flames.

chakrahandsOne day it became certain and non-negotiable. She told her boss that her last day would be March 07, 2014.

To which he replied, “I’ve been here 28 years and no one has ever quit before.” To which she replied, “I’m not quitting, I’m moving on into something that feels better for me.” And they acknowledged together that part of him knew exactly what she was talking about. It was done.

And then, it was Time. The conversations Amelia and I had together didn’t start with sadness any more. They started with hope and fear and excitement and worry and love and brightness and color and truth. Scared? Yes. Any practical person would be. Excited? Absolutely. Determined? Oh, yes! This is the determination born of following dreams, of walking the soul path. Brave? Yes. In the way that we must all be brave if we are to risk choosing what our soul loves — our Bliss, and the natural brilliance of our “different” design.

We started in together on what it means to accept her Truth, trusting her own priceless unique design, using the gifts of her own nature in harmony with her Soul Nature.

Today, Amelia is creating a one-of-a-kind-never-seen-before-as-rare-and-wonderful-as-she-is life and business out of her own joy and vision. Heart and Soul singing in lovely harmony with her practical grounded ways. Wyrd Bliss in action. Personal Destiny embraced and unfolding.

Heaven only knows where this will all lead. But I can tell you the world gained a wonderful healer when she accepted the invitation to follow the path to her inner Fire.
